Detox: Sometimes the Greatest Cleanse Isn't Physical
Godd3ss Aisha
True Story...
(Higher Self)
"It's time for a change, Godd3ss."
"I feel you slipping." 😔
"This is going to hurt a little..." 🥺
"But you already knew that."
"Fear nothing. As you know, you're not walking this journey alone." 😌
(Deep breath.)
There comes a point in life when you have to make a decision.
You can keep carrying what's weighing you down...
Or you can let it go.
When most people hear the word detox, they think about juice cleanses, teas, supplements, or over-the-counter products.
But what if the biggest detox your life needs has nothing to do with your body?
What if it's your energy?
Your thoughts?
Your habits?
Your relationships?
Your memories?
Sometimes we're holding on to things that no longer serve us simply because they've become familiar.
But familiar doesn't always mean healthy.
If it no longer serves your higher good...
Why are you still carrying it?
For me, I realized another thing I needed to detox from.
My phone.
Social media.
The constant scrolling.
The endless notifications.
The pressure to stay connected all the time.
So beginning August 1st through August 7th, I'm doing something I've never done before.
An Internet Fast.
No posting.
No sharing.
No scrolling.
No engaging online.
Instead...
I'm choosing to reconnect with myself.
I'm going to meditate.
Read.
Journal.
Get back into my workouts.
Create a new jazz playlist.
And, as we say in the spiritual community...
Cut the cords.
Release.
Not because the internet is bad.
But because I've realized I've been drifting away from what matters most.
My peace of mind.
The mind and body work together.
When the mind is overwhelmed...
Our energy changes.
Our spirit feels heavy.
Our body follows.
Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is unplug long enough to hear our own thoughts again.
Maybe your detox looks different than mine.
Maybe you need to release anger.
Forgive someone.
Walk away from a relationship.
Break an unhealthy habit.
Turn off the television.
Step away from social media.
Or spend an afternoon in silence.
Whatever it is...
Permit yourself to reset.
Give yourself grace.
Remember...
We're not striving to be perfect.
We're striving to become more peaceful.
More intentional.
More authentic.
More present.
If you've been feeling that quiet voice telling you it's time for a change...
Listen to it.
Your higher self usually knows long before your mind is ready to admit it.
I'd love to hear from you.
What do you need to detox from?
If this message resonated with you, share it with someone you love and care about. They may be carrying something they're ready to release too.
Until next time...
